1. Eligibility

The Services are intended for licensed medical professionals only. By accessing or using the Services, you represent that you are a licensed medical professional or are otherwise qualified by training or role to access medical educational content in your jurisdiction. We reserve the right to verify your credentials and to deny or revoke access if we cannot confirm your eligibility.

2. Medical Disclaimer

Content on the Services is provided for educational purposes only and is intended for use by medical professionals.

Content on the Services should not be used for self-diagnosis or self-treatment. It is not intended as, nor should it be, a substitute for independent professional medical care. Pathcore and its associates cannot guarantee the accuracy, currency, or completeness of any information on the Services and assume no legal liability or responsibility for it. Medical practitioners must make their own independent assessment before suggesting a diagnosis or recommending or instituting a course of treatment. The Services should not in any way be seen as a replacement for consultation with colleagues or other sources, or as a substitute for conventional training and study.

3. SlideRounds — Specific Terms

SlideRounds is an educational case library. Cases, annotations, and expert commentary on SlideRounds are provided solely for the purpose of pathology education and professional development.

  • SlideRounds content is not intended for clinical use. Cases are illustrative and educational. Do not use SlideRounds content to inform the diagnosis or treatment of any patient.
  • Expert annotations and diagnostic reasoning on SlideRounds represent the views of individual contributing pathologists on educational cases. They do not constitute clinical opinions or second opinions on patient cases.
  • Access to SlideRounds is granted by invitation following credential verification. Access is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your account credentials or provide access to others.
  • Free tier access is provided as-is and may be modified or withdrawn at any time.
  • Paid subscription access, when available, is governed by additional terms communicated at the time of purchase.

4. PathScribe — Specific Terms

PathScribe is an AI-assisted structured reporting tool provided for use by qualified pathologists to assist with documentation workflows.

  • PathScribe is a documentation aid only. It does not make clinical diagnoses and does not replace pathologist judgment. All outputs must be reviewed and verified by a qualified pathologist before use.
  • PathScribe is currently available by demo request only. Demo access is granted at Pathcore's discretion and does not constitute a subscription or commercial agreement.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of any report you submit to PathScribe and for verifying all structured outputs before incorporating them into clinical or administrative records.
  • PathScribe is not intended for use with patient information that has not been appropriately de-identified in accordance with applicable law.
  • When you use PathScribe, the report text you submit and the structured output generated are stored by Pathcore for audit and operational purposes, and may be accessed by the Pathcore team to debug extraction errors or review output quality. This data is retained for as long as necessary for those purposes. By using PathScribe, you consent to this storage and access. See our Privacy and Security Policy for further details.

5. Account Access and Waitlists

  • Submission of a waitlist application or demo request does not guarantee access to any Service. Access is granted at Pathcore's sole discretion, based on credential verification and capacity.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when submitting any form on the Site. Providing false or misleading information, including misrepresenting your professional credentials, is grounds for immediate denial or revocation of access.
  • If you are granted access to a Service, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

6. Ownership and Licenses

Pathcore Platform Content

All rights in all software, designs, graphics, trademarks, product names, and logos on the Services belong to Pathcore or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms of Service grants you any right to use Pathcore's trademarks, product names, or logos without prior written permission.

Your License to Access the Services

Subject to these Terms of Service and payment of any applicable fees, Pathcore grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services solely for your own personal professional and educational purposes. You may not modify, copy, distribute, reproduce, republish, download, display, post, transmit, or sell any content from the Services in any form or by any means, in whole or in part, without prior written permission from Pathcore.

Contributed Content — License Grant to Pathcore

When you contribute content to the Services — including whole-slide image files, annotations, diagnostic reasoning, primary diagnoses, morphological feature descriptions, and teaching notes ("Contributed Content") — you grant Pathcore a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute your Contributed Content in connection with the operation and improvement of the Services. This license survives termination of your account. Nothing in these Terms of Service transfers copyright ownership of your Contributed Content to Pathcore.

Attribution

If you contribute content to SlideRounds, you may choose whether your name appears on your contributed cases. Attribution is optional and contributor-controlled. Where you have requested attribution, Pathcore will endeavor to display it, but is not liable for any failure to attribute or for any inadvertent omission of attribution. Where you have not requested attribution, your cases will be displayed without identifying you as the contributor.

7. Content Warranty

In respect of any Contributed Content you submit to the Services, you warrant that you have the right to submit such content and to allow it to be used in accordance with these Terms of Service, and that such content:

  • has been collected by you in a diligent and professional manner and in accordance with applicable privacy legislation in your jurisdiction;
  • is de-identified such that the identity of each patient to whom the content relates is not identifiable or reasonably identifiable;
  • is legitimate and original and has not been copied from any third-party source in a manner that would infringe that party's intellectual property rights; and
  • will not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights when used in connection with the Services.

You further warrant that you have obtained all necessary institutional approvals, ethics clearances, or other permissions required in your jurisdiction before contributing clinical case material to the Services.

8. Moral Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you consent to Pathcore making, and allowing third parties to make, any use of your Contributed Content in connection with the Services that would otherwise be restricted by any non-assignable personal or moral rights you may hold in that content. This includes use without attribution where you have not requested it, and modification or adaptation of your content as necessary to display it within the Services.

9. Patient Data and De-identification

You must not submit real patient data to any Pathcore Service unless Pathcore has expressly confirmed in writing that the relevant Service is cleared for such use and that appropriate data processing agreements are in place.

If you become aware of any content on the Services from which a patient is reasonably identifiable, contact us immediately at info@pathcore.io. We will remove such content promptly upon becoming aware of its existence and may take such action against the contributing user as permitted under these Terms of Service.

10. Acceptable Use

By using the Services, you agree that you will not:

  • Use the Services for any commercial purpose without a separate written agreement with Pathcore.
  • Reproduce, distribute, republish, or resell any content from the Services without prior written permission from Pathcore.
  • Attempt to access, download, or scrape content from the Services in bulk or by automated means.
  • Upload, submit, or transmit any content that contains patient-identifying information, malware, or material that infringes any third-party intellectual property right.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pathcore and its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Services, your breach of these Terms of Service, any content you submit to the Services, or any breach of the warranties in Section 7.

15. Termination
